La Vielle Distillierie @ Lorignac
The superb beaches of Royanne are only 30 minutes away and Bordeaux is just an hour to the south. Other areas of interest include Cognac and Saintes all within a short drive. Alternatively a ferry ride from Blaye takes you straight into the Medoc. The Distillery has 2 fully equipped gites sleeping between 2 and 4 people each all within the private secure walled gardens. A pool is planned to be available for 2007 but is predictably behind schedule. Satellite TV and Broadband Internet Access is available in
both gites.
The village has 2 bar / restaurants, the Hotel Lori and the Bar Doublon, within 2 minutes walk. As an added attraction there are a number of classic bikes available for rental at the Distillery. Currently these include two 1972 Honda CB750 K2's and a 78 Honda CB550K but we expect to have another 3 or 4 bikes available by May 2007. The roads are excellent and generally empty! There is ample secure undercover parking for cars and motorcycles. Please note that the Old Distillery is not suitable for young children.
